The HIV Program components include:
Direct client services in HIV/AIDS prevention and care are delivered through public and private providers in communities around the state. HIV/AIDS care services funded through the HIV/STD Program are overseen by three regional HIV Care Consortia:
Services provided by or funded through these organizations include case management, education, counseling, advocacy, and funding for other outpatient medical, laboratory, dental, mental health and supportive services, as well as prescribed HIV-related medications. (These agencies receive funds from other sources which provide support for housing and other services for eligible individuals.) The State also supports an AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) providing antiretroviral medications for eligible HIV-infected individuals statewide.
